Why am I studying Japanese?

Vol. 4 - Anthony Custodio

Aitas student AnthonyI am studying Japanese mainly as a hobby. I enjoy learning about other cultures and Japanese cultures is something that has always interested me. I wish to be able to watch some of my favorite Japanese films without having to use English subtitles so that I can fully understand the content of the films.

I have also grown up playing video games and there are many games that were never released in North America and remained exclusively in Japan. By learning Japanese, I can also use my language skills for Japanese media.

However, the main reason why I am learning Japanese is to be able to think, read and write in another way besides English. It is a way of opening up my mind to new things and will allow me to meet new people, especially when I plan on going to Japan sometime in the near future.
